In my opinion, Pikes Peak Gray is a little too aggressive to use as the primary color for ALL the walls in a room. I recommend breaking things up by using the color to make a bold accent wall that catches the eye. Or use it on cabinetry like in the image below. Just make sure the blue undertones dont clash with the other color palettes in your home.

Trends In Whole Home Colors

Over the last 9-12 months, I have started seeing this big shift in whole home wall colors in new construction, from mid-toned warm grays or true white walls into very light almost there color. Im also seeing this with my own clients as well who want a whole home wall color in between white and a light warm gray and for some, they are requesting off-whites .

Wall Color is Farrow and Ball Shadow White

During the Parade of Homes last week, I saw these whole home colors range from the popular Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray to Benjamin Moore White Dove.

Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray in spaces with a lot of natural light is a gorgeous whole home color and is one of Benjamin Moores most popular grays right now. This home below that I toured last week from Alair Homes has an abundance of natural light throughout the home and Stonington Gray looked so beautiful on the walls.

Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray

In spaces without a lot of natural light, Stonington Gray will go darker and cooler. Still a beautiful light wall color but for sure not quite a barely there color in this lighting situation below.

In the Raykon Construction parade home, they used Sherwin Williams Useful Gray below on the walls in the family room area. Again, this barely there color was indicative of what I have been seeing for whole home wall colors in new construction in the last year. In spaces without a lot of natural light, I would sample Useful Gray at 50% if you want this subtle look below.

Unmistakenly, this neutral blue color is one of our favorites to pair with off-white or creamy trim colors in bathrooms. This is primarily why we put this lovely blue bathroom color on our list this year.

Lastly, this popular blue bathroom shade from PPG looks great with wood accents in bathrooms. Surprisingly, it also works as a main wall color for black or deeper green trim colors if you are feeling adventurous.

Warm, earthy paint shades help you reflect the beauty of the great outdoors in your indoor décor. Deep fall hues such as Blue Spruce, Terra Cotta red and Earth Green make excellent additions to warm, earthy paint palettes, as do softer hues such as Sunflower and Granny Smith Green.
