Pikes Peak Gray By Benjamin Moore
Pikes Peak Gray LRV: 39.56
Cool might be an understatement on this Benjamin Moore gray paint color its straight COLD! With a LRV of 39.56, Pikes Peak Gray is a cool medium-dark gray paint color with a strong blue hue. If you want to make a bold statement, this paint color can get the job done.
Pikes Peak Gray is a little on the extreme side its the darkest and the coolest paint color in this category.
Heres how Benjamin Moore describes Pikes Peak Gray:
Capturing the beauty of the Colorado mountain for which it is named, this tranquil shade of gray suggests a soaring, snow-covered summit.
In my opinion, Pikes Peak Gray is a little too aggressive to use as the primary color for ALL the walls in a room. I recommend breaking things up by using the color to make a bold accent wall that catches the eye. Or use it on cabinetry like in the image below. Just make sure the blue undertones dont clash with the other color palettes in your home.

Trends In Whole Home Colors
Over the last 9-12 months, I have started seeing this big shift in whole home wall colors in new construction, from mid-toned warm grays or true white walls into very light almost there color. Im also seeing this with my own clients as well who want a whole home wall color in between white and a light warm gray and for some, they are requesting off-whites .
Wall Color is Farrow and Ball Shadow White
During the Parade of Homes last week, I saw these whole home colors range from the popular Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray to Benjamin Moore White Dove.
Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray in spaces with a lot of natural light is a gorgeous whole home color and is one of Benjamin Moores most popular grays right now. This home below that I toured last week from Alair Homes has an abundance of natural light throughout the home and Stonington Gray looked so beautiful on the walls.
Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray
In spaces without a lot of natural light, Stonington Gray will go darker and cooler. Still a beautiful light wall color but for sure not quite a barely there color in this lighting situation below.
In the Raykon Construction parade home, they used Sherwin Williams Useful Gray below on the walls in the family room area. Again, this barely there color was indicative of what I have been seeing for whole home wall colors in new construction in the last year. In spaces without a lot of natural light, I would sample Useful Gray at 50% if you want this subtle look below.

In The Shadows By Ppg
PPGs In The Shadows is another one of those faded blue bathroom wall colors that really seems to pop against white trim and tile. No question, its an elegant hazy blue that adds sophistication and charm to small and medium-sized powder rooms.
Also worth noting, In the Shadows has indigo and cobalt undertones but is still warm enough to pair seamlessly with cream-colored trim or cabinets.
Unmistakenly, this neutral blue color is one of our favorites to pair with off-white or creamy trim colors in bathrooms. This is primarily why we put this lovely blue bathroom color on our list this year.
Lastly, this popular blue bathroom shade from PPG looks great with wood accents in bathrooms. Surprisingly, it also works as a main wall color for black or deeper green trim colors if you are feeling adventurous.

Warm Earthy Paint Shades
Warm, earthy paint shades help you reflect the beauty of the great outdoors in your indoor décor. To capture this aesthetic, ground your overarching decor style in rich brown hues such as Cocoa to mimic the look of tree bark or French Toast when you want a lighter yet still realistic way to refinish a wood piece of furniture. Deep fall hues such as Blue Spruce, Terra Cotta red and Earth Green make excellent additions to warm, earthy paint palettes, as do softer hues such as Sunflower and Granny Smith Green. While these autumnal colors look especially good on fall-themed decor, they also work well for DIY furniture makeovers like upcycled Adirondack chairs or jazzing up a painted dresser that needs a fresh look.

Painting your home with warm gray paint colors creates a relaxed, cozy vibe. This category is the best place to start if you love warm color palettes, and dont want to select too dark of a gray paint.
Warm colors have stronger red and green color profiles, with less blue. Because of this red / green bias, gray paint colors tend to have a yellow, or brown hue. Depending on the exact mix of color, warm grays can also have orange, or olive undertones.
All the warm gray color selections in this category are medium-light with LRVs ranging between 48 and 63.
Valspar 2021 Colors Of The Year
Instead of announcing a single shade for the color of the year, Valspar named 12 cozy muted colors as its top picks for 2021. Ranging in tone from misty blue to warm apricot, the hues were chosen for their ability to calm and encourage mindfulness. â³Our homes have become offices, entertainment centers, and classrooms, which means the colors, sights, and sounds in our rooms have an even bigger impact on our daily lives,â³ said Valspar color marketing manager Sue Kim in a press release. As more stress and time at home in 2020 coincided with a surge in DIY projects and an increased interest in meditation, this year’s selection aims to â³turn home improvement into self-improvement.”
The list of Valspar 2021 colors features a mix of versatile neutrals, including Gallery Grey, Granite Dust, Maple Leaf, Soft Candlelight, and Unforgettable. Warm, organic colors, such as Arizona Dust, Cherry Taupe, and Dusty Lavender, offer more vibrancy and warmth but still read as subtle and sophisticated. Notes Of Delicious Olive Green
Our style team have been noting the abundance of Olive green springing up in new season trend collections. And here are what the experts say on the shade…
In the bedroom olive green can help to create a serene environment, says Charlotte Cosby, head of creative at Farrow & Ball. lts also suited to rooms that overlook nature. The colours from the great outdoors will further enhance the green tones of the walls and create a relaxing outdoor feel in your home.
Olive green is a great colour for east-facing rooms, says Cathryn Helsby, marketing manager and colour expert at Earthborn. These spaces often have green/blue undertones and its best to play to this. Similarly, olive would also work well in north-facing rooms: instead of competing with the lack of light, we recommend embracing it.

Energize With Yellow Paint Trends
An earthy tobacco shade, this golden hue creates rooms that are rich, warm and inviting throughout the year and it also allows artwork to pop out from the walls.
‘Yellow is a color that evokes happiness and provides a sense of positivity,’ says Andy Greenall, head of design, Paint & Paper Library. ‘It is perfect for areas of the home where there is much activity and socializing, such as the kitchen and dining room, where it adds energy and vitality.’
Its easier to incorporate this color into a scheme if youre slightly put off by bright yellow paint in your home and is particularly effective in darker, moodier spaces as it creates a feeling of warmth.
