If you’ve followed Labor Day sales over the past few years like I have, these offer a great indicator as to what we’ll see come late August / early September. The Labor Day holiday weekend usually focuses around home goods and appliances when it comes to discounts, so anything from 4K TVs to air fryers are fair game.
The pattern looks to be the same this year, as well. I don’t expect Lowe’s to throw any curveballs this year as they primarily deal in home improvement categories, so expect to see similar discounts this year around appliances, power tools, and patio furniture.
Lowe’s already has some decent deals around outdoor power equipment thanks to their Summer Savings event, and their Labor Day sale will have very similar price cuts to what you’re seeing today.
Who Has More Affordable Paints
The paint prices available at Lowes and Home Depot are pretty much neck-and-neck, with only slight differences.
The most affordable brand available at Lowes is Valspar, while the most affordable brand at Home Depot is PPG. Lets look at how these brands measure up.
At Lowes, a gallon of white, satin-finish paint starts at around $26 from Valspar, while the top shelf offerings from Sherwin Williams start at about $40.
At Home Depot, a gallon of the same type of paint also starts at $26 , while the popular offerings from Behr start at about $37 per gallon.
Although its a marginal difference, it seems from this example that Home Depot offers slightly lower prices on their premium paints. However, their low-end paints start at the same price.
