Aleutian By Hgtv Home By Sherwin
Like a well-worn pair of faded blue jeans, Aleutian HGSW3355 from HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams embodies comfort and relaxation. Named the brand’s color of the year 2022, this washed-out indigo serves as the foundation of a larger 2022 color collection called Softened Refuge. Combining soft neutrals with muted earth tones, the mix of 10 complementary hues is intended to create “a sense of comfort and calmness with color,” said Ashley Banbury, senior color designer for HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, in a press release. “This palette is designed to simplify color selection for a perfectly coordinated home design.”
Aleutian pairs well with any shade from the collection, including off-white, warm tan, or dusty slate. Because the blue-gray hue has a slightly warm undertone, it offers a balanced look and a restful tone that works equally well in common areas like kitchens or living rooms and private spaces including bedrooms and bathrooms. Layer in plenty of texture with natural wood tones and neutral textiles to enhance Aleutian’s comforting feel. All of the colors in the Softened Refuge collection are available exclusively in Lowe’s stores and at Lowes.com.
Benjamin Moore’s Aegean Teal

The team at Benjamin Moore, in turn, has transitioned from the dreamy, break-of-day wistfulness of 2020s Color of the Year, First Light to a 2021 hue that anticipates a full and fruitful morning. Aegean Teal is an intriguing blue-green that creates natural harmony and invites us to take a moment to reflect and reset, says Hannah Yeo, Benjamin Moore Color Marketing and Development Manager. Aside from the kitchen, Aegean Teal works great in bedrooms, cabinetry, living rooms, offices, entryways and mudrooms.

Art And Craft By Dunn
Dunn-Edwards’ pick for color of the year 2022 is a warm, earthy shade that reflects a broader back-to-nature trend in interior design. Art and Craft DET682 is a soft, sophisticated brown that channels the richness of walnut wood and offers a peaceful, grounding effect. “Art and Craft is truly a down-to-earth color that signifies stability, comfort, and calm, a color that expresses what we all seek right now,” said Sara McLean, color expert and stylist for Dunn-Edwards, in a press release.
This moody, complex color draws inspiration from the bohemian aesthetic of the 1970s as well as today’s folksy cottagecore trend. Use it as an all-over paint color to establish an inviting feel in living areas, dining rooms, and bedrooms. For a modern take, coat both the walls and millwork in Art and Craft to envelop the entire room in cozy warmth. Pair this chocolatey brown with light, breezy neutrals to brighten it up, or opt for vibrant jewel tones to lean into a luxurious look. This 2022 color of the year is available at Dunn-Edwards stores and at numerous independent retailers across the U.S.

These Four Colors Will Dominate Our Homes In 2021
Having spent the vast majority of the year indoors, most people are probably ready for a change of scenery. Though shelter-in-place mandates may not lift anytime soon, transforming your walls with color can have a huge effect on your mood.
“The colors you choose should be inspiring and rejuvenating,” says interior designer Arianne Bellizaire. “Drab and dull colors can really wear you down emotionally, whereas bright and airy colors are much better for your psyche.”
Saffron Strands by Behr Paint is a festive, optimistic shade.
With a new year comes the promise of a fresh startand maybe a fresh coat of paint. Five industry expertsBellizaire Patrick ODonnell, brand ambassador at Farrow & Ball Arianna Cesa, color marketing and development specialist at Benjamin Moore Erika Woelfel, vice president of color at Behr Paint, and Sue Kim, color marketing manager at Krylonreveal the color trends that will emerge in 2021. These are the hues that will usher in a new beginning, provide healing and comfort, and instill confidence.
“I would encourage anyone to consider whether spaces are working optimally for you, especially after this challenging year,” says Woelfel. “Painting can be a low-cost, high-impact project that can improve more than the value of your home, and might be a much-needed refresh in 2021.”

Exterior Magic With The Behr Color Trends 2021 Pallete Carmeon Hamilton
If you read about your favorite Behr white paint here, youll know the white color for the interior of our entire home. Its a very neutral white, and in our house I feel its a little warm. Silky white looks great on the back of this historic cottage.
Behr also makes a neutral color called White. Its sometimes called White 52, but thats just a label, because it doesnt have a proper color name. This beautiful house looks great.
There are slightly warmer whites that would look great in your home: Casa White, Swiss Coffee, White Cotton and Original White. So far I can see pictures of White Coffee and Swiss Cottage.
Soft Reds Are Making A Splash

Though the last few years have featured primarily subtle earth-tones in a nod to the indoor/outdoor living weve all been doing in the pandemic, deeper, more romantic reds have begun to make their mark. Both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams chose a red-based hue as their 2023 Color of the Year: Raspberry Blush and Redend Point , respectively. From dusty cedar to cranberry to subtle magentas, reds will be everywhere this coming year.

Use Paint To Emphasize Architectural Features
From painted window frames, to paneling paint ideas and colorful ceiling trim ideas, enhancing architectural features in your home with paint can create a truly unique design feature and focal point in a space, and transform the practical into something truly beautiful.
Andy Greenall says, ‘color can be used to emphasize architectural features, or emulate them where they lack, using thoughtful paint combinations and paint tricks.’
As shown in this dining room, Little Greene’s’ Chocolate Colour brown and bright Mambo blue have been used to make a beautiful feature of the wall paneling, with the overall scheme creating a unique mix of both classic and modern styles.
Notes Of Delicious Olive Green

Bancha
Our style team have been noting the abundance of Olive green springing up in new season trend collections. And here are what the experts say on the shade…
In the bedroom olive green can help to create a serene environment, says Charlotte Cosby, head of creative at Farrow & Ball. lts also suited to rooms that overlook nature. The colours from the great outdoors will further enhance the green tones of the walls and create a relaxing outdoor feel in your home.
Olive green is a great colour for east-facing rooms, says Cathryn Helsby, marketing manager and colour expert at Earthborn. These spaces often have green/blue undertones and its best to play to this. Similarly, olive would also work well in north-facing rooms: instead of competing with the lack of light, we recommend embracing it.

Evergreen Fog By Sherwin
Sherwin-Williams selected the subtly soothing Evergreen Fog SW 9130 as its color of the year 2022. The mid-tone gray-green signifies a shift away from the cool neutrals and brilliant jewel tones that have previously dominated paint color trends. This familiar, organic color can extend a comforting welcome in entryways, establish quiet and calm in bedrooms or bathrooms, and introduce restorative energy to living rooms, kitchens, and other common areas.
“Evergreen Fog is a sophisticated wash of color for spaces that crave a subtle yet stunning statement shade,” said Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, in a press release. “Evergreen Fog inspires us to begin again and is a great choice for modern interiors and exteriors.” Wadden suggests complementing the color with warm, earthy neutrals, such as beige, camel, or coffee brown. Then bring in additional layers of texture with natural materials including wood, leather, jute, and rattan. For a polished look that veers more glam, try incorporating a mix of metal finishes like warm brass, light gold, or matte black. You can find Evergreen Fog at Sherwin-Williams stores nationwide.
